They think he's too far away.

The fact that he was with Mitten and Hustendinov, the fact that those three played together last year, I think management knows he's ready.

And now I just think they're kind of holding their horses.

They're trying to keep the fan base and themselves from not getting too excited about him.

Things are going to happen.

But he didn't have a problem last season playing...

Mitten, Higgins, and Kuznetdinov together in small stretches because he likes what they bring.

You know, they all play well together.

He's a good player.

They did just extend Mitten.

So maybe Kevin Adams was a part of it.

He was telling everybody, you know, we got Tate Thompson at that number a couple years

The poise he demonstrated, his ability to elevate into, we saw, second line at times.

Even then, on the first line with Pashnak, there was a plus 17 goal differential when the two of them played together, which is a huge thing to highlight in Mitten's first year.

But I think this deal is sort of just the Bruins.

It's a rarity for me because I feel like the Bruins have done a lot of this where you look at the kind of contracts they've given to their younger players and they go for the bridge deal.

Those guys are fourth liners.

Higgins, you know, again, skill guy who's sitting off, I'd say the same.

Then Mitten kind of just, you know, in between more of a center, right? They don't have anyone who's a power forward type of the top nine.

Like they just don't.

And it's like, and the thing is, is that this now also, again, gives you flexibility with if they don't bring Zaka back or Zaka won't come back.

You now have Hagen's, Mitten, and Lindholm up the middle, not even counting Patra.

So, like, you're covered there.
