They had the Galant.

They had the Diamante.

They had the Lancer.

Then, right at the crux of when their new, uh, SUV was coming out, here comes the recession, and they got caught, and little bit by little bit, they stopped selling certain vehicles in the United States.

The Diamante went.

The Galant went.

Eventually, the Lancer went.

So I didn't have a driver's license.

My younger brother did, right? So I took my mother's Mitsubishi Galant, which was our second car, without a driver's license, and I drove to Port Jefferson, Long Island, uh, to a, what was a young person's meeting, but it was, it was like a midnight, it was like a late-night meeting.

And I drove to that meeting, and at the meeting, this guy was in there crying because he had slipped that day, and he had given in, and I was like, "I should be that guy," but for that phone call, huh? And, uh, so that was a pretty fucking happy accident.

Obviously, I know that some of you are saying, "It wasn't a happy accident.

All efforts to sweep this situation under the rug and somewhat rectify the situation that happened in the projects have failed to this point, and shortly before 10 p.m., Lil Hangout, Kano, and Cashmene are setting up the caravan.

They're staying in room four at the Sun Motel, and they're seen going in and out before Hangout and Kano are eventually get into a Mitsubishi Galant, with Hangout being the driver.

Cashmene is right behind them in a white GMC SUV, and she's the tail car.

And coming out to some motel, it's a straight shot down 108, going straight to Watts, and they make their way to 107th and Compton Avenue, right outside Hacienda Village Projects.

My '92 Galant VR4, fully stock, really good example.

I think it has, like, 150K on the clock, Belize Green, which is the only color I ever respect.

So this is a car you will not see out in traffic unless you live in Seattle, because they do import a lot of Japanese cars, and it is a five-speed manual.

It has a twin turbo V6, and the Galant, which is what we got here-

Like, so it's, like, a special venue, special cars, and everyone there is just such a hardcore car enthusiast that, like, it, it's hard not to enjoy.

And you see cars like this, where you're like, "Holy crap, I forgot about that," and then you see one in the flesh, and you're like, "Oh, that is so cool." And then there will be, like, eight other Galant experts out there being like, "This is r- r- r- this is-"

So true.

And somewhere inside Mitsubishi, engineers started working on the answer to that question.

Not the Lancer, not a Pajero, not a Gallant.

Their new four-wheel drive rally weapon would be based around Mitsubishi's new turbocharged sports coupe, the Starion.

But before we get there, something else happens in 1982. because the man who had helped Mitsubishi on the international rally map during the 1970s was about to establish an organization whose name would eventually become
