D
30:55Damien TreenanCORRESPONDENT
You brought together 160 farmers across the country.
D
30:58Damien TreenanCORRESPONDENT
What progress are you making on bringing local facilities back online, like an abattoir in Mitchelstown and the planned cutting facility in Dunhill?
S
31:06Siobhan HubbardGUEST
Well, Selina really came out of that frustration of the lack of small-scale facilities for us.
S
31:13Siobhan HubbardGUEST
So instead of every small farmer individually fighting for exactly the same battle, we started asking other farmers around us, what happens if we can organise something ourselves? What happens if we can put the infrastructure in ourselves? You know, what's stopping us? So we've engaged with, at the top it was 160 farmers, but they're spread across Ireland.
S
32:00Siobhan HubbardGUEST
But the exciting part is that we're not trying to replace the remaining independent abattoirs.
S
32:04Siobhan HubbardGUEST
We're trying to keep the little ones alive.
S
32:06Siobhan HubbardGUEST
So we're working with quite a number of independent facilities, including the work around Mitchelstown and the model for Dunhill.
S
32:14Siobhan HubbardGUEST
And the next part really is to develop that chain, the cutting, the butchery, the packing and the value added processing.

É

Their win over Mitchelstown, one of the standout performances of the weekend as well.
B
29:52Barry O'MahonyPANELIST
Yeah, I suppose not, I suppose that's what we did say last week, there was a 50-50 game, I suppose it had the potential to be a shootout in a while, but Budavent, they have a serious moment after winning the Premier Junior last year, but Mr Stone, it's a setback because obviously they would have been probably the favourites, so one of the major favourites.
B
30:07Barry O'MahonyPANELIST
Yeah, well they've said so
Corks Sports Sunday 27/09 Buttevant manager Joey O'Hanlon post match v Mitchelstown
J

Particularly there, we missed a couple of chances to go one point, or two points, three points ahead, you know.
J
0:10Joey O'HanlonGUEST
And in fairness to Mitchelstown, they came back and like...
J
0:14Joey O'HanlonGUEST
As part of the old cliche, we knew the half was coming and the same applied today.
J
0:17Joey O'HanlonGUEST
We knew it was coming and, you know, one-point victory.

Manon Gilbert reports that the council acquired a property in the townland of Kilglass, near Mitchelstown and the Galtee Mountains, only to find out it was actually in Limerick, not Cork.
L
1:33Lisa PereiraCORRESPONDENT
It's understood the property is due to be transferred to Limerick City and County Council and will be allocated to some-someone on their social housing list.

É

Gibbons win now will give the Mitchelstown crew a lift won't they going into it and they have Marquine available
B
37:46Barry O'MahonyPANELIST
Mitchelstown lost to Drumtower last time out conceding four goals as well that was an upset Bullivant had a great win over Ireland Rovers who obviously got to the final last year so that has the makings to be a belt up it's two teams you
É
37:58Éamonn MurphyHOST
could comfortably see winning it like given their firepower and their balance and you know and just their I suppose their general upward curves both clubs have been on over the last few years like so great
B
38:07Barry O'MahonyPANELIST
game that's on Saturday and Glamour so yeah
Scoreboard controversy in Cork GAA as Carrigaline and Clon lay down markers.
É
28:05Éamonn MurphyHOST
Hurling you know I know obviously you know they had you know a Cork under 20 All-Ireland winning captain he's a fine footballer too but like you know and the Howards and lads like that like they're all obviously
B
28:13Barry O'MahonyPANELIST
Mitchelstown are favourites you know for that competition in the intermediate so but obviously they can still win it but it's definitely a setback definitely a setback for them before Dumped Halfhead are playing Boho Bruno in the in the qualifier so that's obviously going to be tricky and Mitchelstown then have obviously Budventon in the other qualifier that'll be a great game yeah that's that's going to be a
É
28:33Éamonn MurphyHOST
That's part of it If it's a good day 20 points plus for each team Whoever wins it will have to break the 25 power I reckon I noticed Adrigal are back in the semi-finals again as well Barry Yeah, yeah They'll be hoping to make it Fourth time in a row They've lost the last three semis They're so consistent When you're repeatedly getting to semis You're there in their boots Just a resilience
D
28:51Denis HurleyPANELIST
They
B

know what I mean? They have players, you know, up in Cork and up the country.
B
28:55Barry O'MahonyPANELIST
You know, we're on about tight picks, they're down in barrels, every team has a tight pick.
B
28:58Barry O'MahonyPANELIST
Absolutely, the commitment they're showing in, you know, Timmy O'Sullivan is at the helm, he's been in charge of last year, as in fairness to him, he's kept the show on the road and, yeah, they'll be playing the winners of the jump half in the Boherbury game and, obviously, Boherbury beat Adderall in the semi-final two years ago, so, and in the other semi-final in Kilmore, you're playing Bullivant or Mitchelstown.
B
