Mitchell Report

PEDs, that would be the initials of somebody named Paul E. Smith.

There was the Mitchell Report.

And they banned that guy Manny Ramirez during spring training or after eight at-bats when he tried to come back with Tampa Bay.

And every year they still hand out some 80-game suspension to some guy you've barely heard of who bought some, I don't know, steroids at a newsstand in the Dominican Republic or something and didn't buy the covering drugs.

All right.

Now we do have the Mitchell report.

So that'll be a minus five.

Hey.

But they can also lose points if they show up in the Mitchell Report or are on the do not talk about list.

You know who I think should be on that list, Arnie? Mark Greutz- Greutzela- God, Mark G- Greuzelonic.

That guy's name is, is too difficult.

So I just, I don't think it's fair to blanket everybody with that same thing.

Oh, he mentioned the Mitchell Report, so he can't be a Hall of Famer.

That's just not fair.

So speaking of blanketing everybody, that's the main reason why I was always particularly harsh on the steroid guys, because I would look at somebody like Larry Walker or somebody like Jim Tomey, guys who swore up and down, never touched the stuff, never wanted to.

Both the writer's ballot and last year's 16-member Contemporary Baseball Era Committee Both took a pass on him.

In 2007, he was part of the Mitchell Report.

Among other things, his own former personal trainer, a fellow by the name of Brian McNamee, said, Oh yeah, I'd juice that bastard up on the regular.

Steroids and human growth hormones.

That was my first pick.

Second was the Balco steroids Mitchell Report scandal.

Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan, that scandal.

Poor Nancy, her knee.

with the steroid trial and the Balco case.

Remember the Mitchell Report? That's 20 years ago now, the Mitchell Report came out.

And that brought about some really bad publicity for some of baseball's biggest sluggers like Barry Bonds, Alex Rodriguez, Mark McGuire, Sammy Sosa.

We could go on and on and on and on.

That's the word I was thinking of.

He went with the 1919? Is that what it was? The 1919 Black Sox throwing the World Series.

The Balco scandal with the Mitchell Report.
