Mistlands

That's particularly egregious, and I won't get into too, like, this was new to me, this playthrough.

When you go to the Ashlands, or not the Ashlands, the Mistlands, which is one of the territories in the game, everything is rocks and hill and raining or misty or whatever.

First of all, you can't see anywhere, which irritates me, but hey, that's part of the game.

But the fact that everywhere you go, you have to jump and use your stamina constantly.

So if you want to go out on your own, but other people are in the same region as you, you're probably dealing with an enemy that's scaled three or four times higher than what it would be if you were playing alone or off by yourself.

Right.

which is good and bad i think it has trade-offs of course we recently faced a boss that was i think way over overly difficult because we took so many people to fight that boss and you know i don't want to spoil what that boss is but because that's part of the game is discovering what the thing you have to fight is and how to do so so and how to like even unlock them so i think that's that's also a really cool part of the game but i think that some of that tuning that they did for co-op is probably really good in some ways but in other ways it just sucks and kind of defeats the enjoyment of the game And speaking of defeating the enjoyment, the Mistlands, as I mentioned, is the first zone out of the four or five we've been to so far where I've hated every moment I've been there.

Part of it's because of the aforementioned stamina.

And it is...

We got to the Mistlands, which I'd only ever kind of been to before.

And the Mistlands is a place I hate forever.

First of all, it's got mist in it.

You can't see more than like 10 feet in front of you.

But I'm having a good time with it.

I'm enjoying it.

We beat the Mistlands.

And now All-Father Odin completed his work by planting the tree of life.

This immense tree had its roots in Asgard and Midgard and the Mistland, and it grew to such a marvelous height that the highest bough, the bough of peace, hung over the hall of Odin on the heights of Asgard.

And the other branches overshadowed both Midgard and the Mistland.

On the top of the peace bough was perched a mighty eagle, and ever a falcon sat between his eyes and kept watch on all that happened in the world below that he might tell Odin what he saw.

Heidrun, the goat of Odin who supplied the heavenly mead, browsed on the leaves of this wonderful tree, and from them fed also the four mighty stags from whose horns honeydew dropped onto the earth beneath and supplied water for all the rivers of Midgard.

So that is the third to last episode.

That's the third to last zone is Mistlands.

Ashland is the second to last zone.

So that's the next zone for us.

And then Deep North is the final zone, which just came with 1.0.

So I'd never gotten to Mistlands even in the past.

So now I'm done with Mistlands pretty much.

Although there's a couple little more upgrades out of Mistlands that I'd like to take to Ashlands.

lots of Valheim, just, uh, playing the shit out of Valheim still.

Um, I'm actually like, I'm in two servers now cause I had some old friends, uh, who, I played with back before the Mistlands release.

We had a server together and then we kind of fell off and now they're back.

So I've got one where I am in Endgame, deep north in the snow, fighting giants and having all sorts of fun.

And so we all pile onto a big long ship, right? And there's fucking eight of us.

And we go into the Mistlands, which is a big, misty, rocky area full of ants.

And it's just like landing on the fucking beaches in Normandy.

The way we're all piling out of this boat as it crashes into the shore.

We traveled to Vermillion.

On our way back from Vermillion, we heard about some disturbances in the sacred ground, where we even went into the spirit gate, where we found out that some form of, some, I believe, some form of shaman from from Mistland was corrupted by what we perceive was Tiamat, from what we could tell.

There are lots of powers to stake in.

Just briefly,

And that was one point that was early access.

Then they added, after the planes, they added Mistlands.

Then they added Ashlands.

And then this is the last one, which is Deep North.

So that's you're getting that again with with Deep North.

Supposedly, I've been very careful not to look too deeply into Deep North yet, and I haven't gotten there in the game.

I'm only at Mistlands in the sort of the replay.

Which is further than I ever got before.
