Mission Dolores Park

Much like huffing paint does.

And that's something I used to see in San Francisco, like in Dolores Park back in the day.

It was like these kids with like silver teeth.

And I was like, oh, man, that guy's not going to be able to drive a car soon.

I was born and raised in Belmont, and one of my neighbors who I delivered newspapers to was Viva McDonald, who was born and raised in the Mission.

And she experienced the earthquake in 1906 and told me stories of the gatherings in the park, Dolores Park, where they would line up and celebrate.

She would be in a line and they would just dump a bunch of flour in her dress.

You know, that's how she told me she would carry it back to their tent and stuff like that.

Yeah.

We had a storage unit in our apartment on Dolores Park.

that got broken into, which housed all of my costumes and that was stolen.

So I had to rebuild that from scratch.

I was definitely getting emotional, but it was just it's just a cool thing.

And it happened in Dolores Park, which is the most beautiful park in the city.

It's right in the middle of the city in the Mission District.

And it's overlooking the skyline.

If you're from San Francisco, you remember the time when there would be conga players on Embarcadero-

Yeah.

She came to San Francisco for the heated rivalry comedy show.

And a bunch of us got together and we hung out in Dolores park in San Francisco and like, And now we're like friends

and it's great.

That is such a cute story.

And like, obviously after I left Google, there was many options to do many other things.

And I was most like, I wasn't, I saw something different, right? Our conversation wasn't about like, how what the company is about how we will portray it how like all the superficial stuff it was purely like talking about like current limitations and trying to think like okay what is a different axis that we might need to explore and obviously at that time we were also communicating in like this like dance because we can't talk to each other about the details either because we haven't really like so we were discussing and it was kind of funny it was just like a 35 minute conversation at Dolores Park and it's kind of like I'm like I was actually intrigued.

I was like, okay, this person is also talking about stuff about architecture that I believe is also true.

And that's very few people believe the stuff that I want to do is actually true.
