[laughs] So, um, Miss Continental is a drag pageant that has been around since the 1980s.

It is one of the oldest and most prestigious.

I started getting involved with a lot of people that were in pageants and getting to meet a lot of the girls.

They had started doing Miss Continental preliminary in Puerto Rico.

And when I started seeing all the incredible, they were bringing all the incredible performers from Chicago, from everywhere.

And I started seeing all these beautiful transgender women performing.

Yeah.

I won that year.

And then from there, I went to Miss Continental the following year.

And yeah, I was on the system for not that long because it's...

mean, even in the drag world, we've got Miss Continental.

We've got Miss Gay USA.

We've got Miss Drag UK.

And unfortunately was at the hands of one of my favorites who is currently competing for Miss Continental this weekend.

week before 9-11.

Candice, you did not win Miss Continental and then 9-11 happened.

Yes.

When she had that, when she pulled it out in the workroom, I was like, all right, bitch.

All right, Miss Continental.

Like, you better.

Like, hello, ma'am.

I love that bitch down.

But like...

Like, I'm considering going to Miss Continental this year just to support her and her alone.

Like, I'm genuinely considering it.

You have to understand the seriousness of drag pageantry.

I didn't really understand it until just recently, but we all know about Continental and Miss Gay America, US of A, all that.

And I competed in Comedy Queen, National Comedy Queen 2024, I believe was the year that I lost.

It was a lovely 17th alternate, but I learned a lot in my experience and I wanna share that with you all today.

It's probably not going to cover what you spent to get there.

Especially if you do it year after year, that just adds up.

Because you're going back to Continental year after year after year, as people do, and you're not winning.

So you're just spending money.

They have the same categories and all of that and a lot of the same winners.

Like, a lot of people that have won Miss Florida went on to win Miss Continental and, um, but that's insane that, um, we have somebody that is still around active and doing amazing things still after 50 years of winning a pageant.

Um, that's incredible.

Uh, you know-

Bianca Nicole, Vanessa Demornay, Aurora Sexton, Mocha Montrese, Raquel Lord, Sunny Delight, Alexis Gabrielle Sharonton, Ginger Manchester, Danielle Hunter, Buffet, Paris Campbell, Twyla Holiday.

Um, Raven, the goddess Raven, which is my great-grandmother.

Um, Maya Douglas, she is a former Miss Continental.

She is amazing.
