To understand why Castiel became the ultimate pivot point of Supernatural, you have to look at what he was when he first walked into the Pine Panel Barn in Pontiac, Illinois.

during the Season 4 premiere, Lazarus Rising, when Misha Collins made his debut as Casio wearing a rumpled trench coat, a tilted tie, and a blue dress shirt borrowed from his host, Jimmy Novak.

He was not a heroic savior seeking friendship.

He was a soldier of God, detached, terrifying and powerful, completely indifferent to human emotion.

Castiel expressed his love, accepted his fate, and was taken into the dark abyss for the empty, saving Dean's life and giving the brothers the chance to complete their fight for human free will.

From a storytelling perspective, Castiel was never meant to be a permanent fixture.

He was originally written as a short-term character for a brief Season 4 arc, but Misha Collins' subtle, gravitated performance combined with the unalienable narrative chemistry between Castiel and the Winchesters transformed a mid-level soldier into the emotional core of the series.

Castiel changed Supernatural because he proved that destiny is not written in the stars.

Yeah.

I sometimes come off as a Jared Padalecki hater because of how aggressive I was for Jensen and Misha.

I don't hate Jared Padalecki.

He's just genuinely happy to be here.

And even I felt it.

Right.

And then Misha, Misha Collins...

he took a very active role in being a part of the fandom he is still taking a very active role in being a part of the fandom to an extent that we're not having this conversation today i think mirrors the way tom felton never left harry potter

They kind of sprung this one on me earlier in the week that I was going to be doing this one.

It was Misha Collins from Supernatural with Timothy Amundsen from Psych, who plays Lasseter.

If you don't know it, Timothy Amundsen, he recently, like a couple years ago, he had a stroke.

So he was only going to do half the panel.

No, it basically is like a form of Misha Collins' Gishwas.
