I suspect your fictional character would be the woman who can command a room with a microphone.

And that's where the story comes from.

Well, let me ask you because is, is Miranda Bailey still the same woman we met in that very first episode, or has she changed? Do, do you-

... see her differently now?

And, you know, maybe we don't even believe half the things that come out of her mouth anymore, but to her and me as an actor, I still think I'm that person in that first episode.

Wow.

And Miranda Bailey has conquered almost everything.

[laughs] Yeah.

There's, like, the first-year interns, which is our original four.

There's Bailey, who's their supervising resident, but it's very unclear how far in her training is.

It also makes no sense that as a resident she would have a reputation.

Like, who, who c- no residents are, like ...

I'm pretty sure it won't be all like, you know, roses and, and sunbeams, because they're human beings.

A new season brings new challenges for Grey's Anatomy's Dr. Bailey and Dr. Warren.

Can you please remind people that I am not chief resident anymore.

With Wright back from family leave, I gotta put all my focus on classes.

We're still a show where we find out what's going on at the table read [laughs] and not much sooner than that.

So I've heard that there's some big future plans there, but I can't confirm or deny, uh, any of it.

But you would think so, right? If it was Bailey answering the question, she would say Idris Elba.

Elba needs to come into the VIP suite, yeah.

Now, whether you're a longtime fan or maybe you're a new fan, you just recently discovered it, there is one doctor who has been there since the beginning.

That is Dr. Miranda Bailey, played by Chandra Wilson.
