Governor Tim Walz joined state and local leaders yesterday in Roseville to break ground at a new headquarters for the Minnesota State Patrol.

The dedicated facility will consolidate operations, training, and emergency response in a single modern location.

It marks the first headquarters built specifically for the agency, which employs more than 800 staff and troopers statewide.

And finally, a Wisconsin contractor is facing felony theft charges after allegedly accepting more than $20,000 in payments and bartered goods from a Polk County homeowner for foundation work that was never completed according to court documents.

Cole Brammel of Brammel Construction was charged in Polk County Circuit Court in May with Class G felony theft by contractor.

Minneapolis police officers responded in an attempt to get the vehicles off the sidewalk as well as to keep the peace.

Officers tracked both vehicles after they left, and with the assistance of Minnesota State Patrol, we were first able to stop the vehicle at the intersection of 35 W and Washington.

From Northern News Now, one person suffered serious injuries after a vehicle caught fire while traveling on 35 in Duluth.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a Nissan Altima was traveling northbound in the right lane of I-35 near Fifth Avenue when the vehicle began to catch fire.

Troopers say all five occupants jumped from the vehicle while it was still moving.

The unmanned vehicle then struck the barrier on the right side of the road before crossing traffic lanes and coming to rest against the barrier on the left side.
