Yes, this is John Whiteley, local MP.

He says, I understand that the above centre, by which he means Bletchley Park, comes within the scope of your department, though some attempt appears to be made on the part of those connected with it to make it appear that they come under either the Ministry of Economic Warfare or the Foreign Office.

There are some points connected with it which seem to call for investigation, and no doubt it is better for me to write to you about them than that I should put down parliamentary questions either to the Prime Minister or to yourself.

A considerable number appear to assume that they should be provided with amenities far in advance of those to which they are entitled, and at the expense of the householder, who cannot of course possibly provide expensive meals, unlimited hot baths, sitting rooms, central heating, personal attendance, etc.

We know this from the 1939 register, that census, which is done the end of September 1939.

He's got several members of GCNCS and SIS living with him.

They include somebody from the Ministry of Economic Warfare and somebody who used to be an admiral.

So this is why he gets this impression that there is some kind of cover going on for naval work.
