A little Mimikyu shows up.

A guy, some guy, kind of like a sneaky looking guy.

Yeah.

I don't know if I have many thoughts about a movie besides it looks pretty cool.

Interesting it's

Tonight, a small, solitary figure drags itself through the broken front entrance.

It is Mimikyu.

The tiny ghost and fairy-type Pokémon shuffle slowly across the dirty floor.

dragging the frayed, dirty fabric of its makeshift Pikachu disguise.

Its wooden stick tail scrapes against the tiles.

Mimikyu is entirely alone, tilting its crudely drawn head as it wanders down the dark, empty aisle of rusted shopping carts.

From the shadows of the ceiling, Gengar watches.

The large ghost smiles, its wide, sinister grin revealing rows of glowing white teeth.

I went for, and it's a very, again, very simple card, but I liked it because there is a can in the picture that has a little Pikachu image on it.

but it also has Mimikyu.

And I thought that was quite nice to get both of them.

The Pikachu in the picture and the Mimikyu, it's from Lost Abyss.

So it's the Japanese, very basic, very basic card.

It's great.

And it is kind of difficult for, especially psychic decks that do not play Mimikyu, it can be very difficult for them to respond.

So like Slaking was in play against Peacock for like four turns.

Even without, like, even though I had to like, take multiple turns off of attacking, you know, if I didn't find the switch on my next turn, I was fine to just pass with slacking active because he wasn't doing anything anyways, you know? So that's, like, the benefit of slacking.

you don't have a guy to be able to, cause you're powering up an attacker is tough.

So you want a two energy guy.

And, and I would imagine like, Because I had Mimikyu, like you said, I had the Mimikyu response, but like, okay, here's your other two energy guy, Iron Boulder.

How am I hand matching with my abilities? Well, they're not

It's called Pokemon Wild Card, and it's scheduled for 2027.

And from the teaser, it follows a Pokemon TCG player and Mimikyu, which is wild.

I mean, no pun intended, maybe a little intended, because Pokemon has obviously made movies forever, but this one appears to be actually centered around the card game itself.

And that's a really interesting idea.

Depending on how heavily the TCG is integrated into the story, I think there could be a collector effect there too.

Because media exposure matters.

If Mimikyu is heavily featured in a movie about the Pokemon card game... guess what people are probably going to start looking at? Mimikyu cards.

I'm not telling you to go buy every Mimikyu that you can find.

It's going to follow an aspiring TCG player and the Pokemon Mimikyu, which is like a little ghost Pokemon that dresses up kind of like Pikachu because people are scared of it and it knows everyone loves Pikachu.

Yeah, so this was, the film was teased during the kind of annual esports Pokemon event, Pokemon Worlds.

It's being directed by Katsuhiko Kitada, whose credits include episodes of Attack on Titan, Idle Master... naruto shippuden apparently he was also involved in a makoto shinkai film the place promised in our early years um so these are all like quite well-known things in the the anime world and yeah as i say it's going to be following like an original protagonist because we're kind of in the post ash ketchum era for the past few years and it's actually the yeah the first film since then like pokemon for a long time they did yearly films, not on necessarily the kind of theatrical release, like Detective Pikachu scale, but they would do like an anime movie of Ash going on, you know, like an hour and a half feature length adventure rather than an episodic one kind of once a year, roughly, but there were over 20 Pokemon films, obviously.

And yeah, I guess just personally, I'm looking forward to it.

Excited to see how they, you know, whether it's, it seems weird to have the card game and real Pokemon at the same time.

I'm curious as to how they're going to kind of balance that in a kind of narrative sense of you know it's much more like actual top trumps you know we get top trumps of real things maybe to some extent it's the same like the reveal trailer shows the card player with his like deck of cards and there's a Mimikyu card in there but then Mimikyu is also like a character in the film so it's like will they come out of the cards is it going to be like a more of a like Yu-Gi-Oh-E thing or is it just like well yeah they've made cards of Pokemon like you know we could make cards of animals it's not that deep I don't really know it'll probably be that but

in universe and their partner Mimikyu on a quest to become a champion.

This opens so many little puzzle boxes and questions.
