Milwaukee Avenue

Our marriage started exactly the way you hope adult love does: deliberate, rooted, grown from respect, and that early restless need to create.

Matt and I met through mutual friends at an opening off Milwaukee Avenue.

He was already deep into the gallery scene, the kind who could wear charcoal suits and ratty Vans and convince your parents he was both safe and daring.

There's a core steadiness to him, a calming gravity.

I want people to know that I provide the service.

We've had a sweet corn stand that we've been selling vegetables ever since our farm was on Milwaukee Avenue.

We've been doing that for over 100 years.

And I know that people come every year and they look forward to our vegetables.

I reached Milwaukee Avenue and there was a stoplight ahead.

I didn't know the clutch pedaled from the brake.

The light changed to red and I sailed right through.

And so she eventually...

She had a, a office on Milwaukee Avenue.

and then and then I have another Sunday thing coming up on October 25th they've been doing this thing in Wicker Park on Milwaukee called Meet Me on Milwaukee and they've been shutting down Milwaukee Avenue from Damon to Ashland for just walking and I'm doing an event there next to Sweetgreen, which is on Honoré in Milwaukee with Control Zora and Boo Williams and myself.

We got three days off school and people were lined along Milwaukee Avenue.

I mean, and I had a police officer friend who told me there was a significant drop in crime... for those days that St. John Paul II was here.

Because I do think, you know, you have someone whose whole life is focused on making your relationship with Christ personal, you know, wanting the best for you, wanting God's best for you.
