Milton Windler

Coming up on This Week in Space, we say farewell to two icons of the Apollo era, Margaret Hamilton and Milt Windler.

A Soviet satellite has broken up in orbit.

What does that mean for the debris environment? And what's on your reading list? Rod and I get down to business when it comes to space science fiction of the past, the present, and the future.

You'd think that I would've known that already, that she had actually founded it, not just worked there, so that was really interesting there too.

Uh, but yeah, sadly, uh, Margaret wasn't the only kind of icon of the, the Apollo era that we, we lost this week.

We learned that Milt Windler, the flight director from Apollo 13, he died at 94, uh, or-

Yeah

... you know, we, we learned about that.

When your local cows have better internet than you do, maybe it's time to question who really benefits from all that bandwidth.

NASA loses Apollo 13 hero Milt Windler at 94.

Even in death, he's still more grounded than the current space policy, which seems to orbit around hot air and wishful thinking.
