Milo Minderbinder

One little fictional and cinematic analogy or, uh, reference.

The, the whole Springer-Verlag thing, um, makes me think of the Catch-22 character, uh, Milo Minderbinder.

[laughs]

Um, did you ever read Catch-22 or see the, like, adaptation of it that, that came out a, a number of years back?

Yeah.

No worries.

So, so Milo Minderbinder is a, uh, he's a fictional character in, uh, Joseph Heller's, uh, s- 1961 novel, uh, Catch-22.

Um, and he's the mess officer of, uh, Yossarian's squadron.

And that is something they're still coming to terms with.

Your portrayal of, you know, these Czech bros in the field in Afghanistan, I couldn't help but think of Milo's Minderbender and Eminem Enterprises in Catch-22.

Yeah, I mean, it's it is like I remember at one point when Bill LaPlante, who was the chief acquisition officer in the Pentagon in the in the Biden administration, where he was on a like a really wonky defense procurement podcast.

And at one point he says in frustration, like, what what are the tech bros doing for us in Ukraine? And he got so much pushback for that that he kind of had to walk it back a little bit.
