Milliput

It's really neat.

And then it's sister product is milliput.

Milliput is this like, milliputty stuff.

It's like two different, it's usually two different, it's two different cylinders of putty.

One's usually light color, one's usually dark.

When it makes kind of a neutral color, you're good to go.

Green stuff is more malleable and shapeable for making cloaks and stuff like that.

Milliput, I think, is a little more robust, but it breaks more.

I used some expanding foam to kind of fill in all the gaps.

[clears throat] And then I, I kind of carved it rough into the right shape, and then I used a, a product, it's called Milliput.

It's like a two-part epoxy putty.

And back in my coral farm days, I used to use their products a lot.

And I thought, "I wonder if that would work for this," because it's, it's waterproof, it's non-toxic, um, it dries rock hard.

But unlike ...

You could use something like concrete or cement, but obviously that's gonna leach lots of, um, it's gonna leach lime and stuff, which may, may not be good for any plants or animals you put in there, and I knew that Milliput is completely non-toxic, completely safe.

The only problem is it's the wrong color, so I had to get a few different colors and kind of blend them to get something roughly the right color.

I do have an extra Billy Jack Haynes figure in my inventory, so maybe I'll paint that and then do some Mod Podge or some Milliput, I mean, to make new knee pads like you did on the previous Billy Jack Haynes.

He shared on Twitter recently when I said I was going to do a Bobby Heenan repaint.

He showed off one that he had done that's just outstanding.

He used some Milliput and gave Bobby a bow tie and did some more work on giving him pockets on this tux that he wore.

And it's just a phenomenal Bobby Heenan figure that he did.

Superfine milliput.

Yeah, don't do what I used to do in order to smooth it out.

When I was sculpting some of the figures, I'd sort of like lick my tool and having visited the Milliput factory, don't do it.

It's carcinogenic.

Yeah.

Unfortunately, John wasn't available this month.

Apparently, he's far too busy applying Milliput as makeup before disappearing off for the weekend.

And I'm not entirely sure whether he was filling imperfections, re-scribing lost facial detail, or simply attempting some fairly ambitious facial reconstruction.

Either way, John is away.

So this month, you're getting the usual 100 pages of aircraft modeling, reference news, and reviews.

Taking pride of place on the cover is the Fairey Fulmar Mark II in 1/48, built from Eduard's kit by, somewhat inconveniently, John Taberna.

So apparently, he did have time to build a Fulmar before beginning his Milliput beauty regime.

John's build is followed later in the magazine by a substantial Aircraft in Profile feature on the Fulmar itself, again written by John, accompanied by scale plans and color profiles from Sam Pearson.
