Mill Valley

Don, can you tell us what is the Dipsy Rogue Race? When, length, what's the logistics of it when you

first started? The race starts in Mill Valley, and the distance has been disputed, but most recently the competitive course was measured at 7.1 miles.

It's 7.1 miles from Mill Valley to Stinson Beach, basically over the slope of Mount Tam, with the exception of a little bit of asphalt running down to Muir Woods just prior to the two-mile mark.

And then the last three-quarters of a mile to the finish, it's all run on fire roads and trails.

As Vince said, a lot of the trails can be pretty treacherous.

Yeah.

Just a little bit of context.

There are two climbs, and the first climb from Mill Valley to the top of Panoramic Highway is about 800 feet of elevation gain in the first mile and a quarter.

I like to get parking.

At the time, I was living still in Marin County in Mill Valley, which is north of the Golden Gate Bridge, but my job was in the city.

um i was there very early i was probably there by 6 30 or 7 pacific time and i was talking to a friend colleague of mine who was working from home and i had the radio on and he had the television on and he said that oh my god that a plane just hit one of the towers at the world trade center And then the second one hit, and he thought, you better leave.

I mean, nothing's going to happen today.

So he learned the mighty Maria Muldaur, who lives over in Mill Valley, shout her out.

Uh, and she had this banger in 1973.

And another woman and I hosted an in-person event last fall and advertised it on LinkedIn.

And it was so fun to, and one of the, so we actually did, we had three co-hosts and the third was another woman that I met on LinkedIn who lives in Mill Valley, who we'd become in real life friends.

And, and we did this in-person event and a ton of people came off LinkedIn into this in-person event.
