The Cowichan Housing Association is progressing with two important housing projects, one in Duncan and another in Mill Bay.

In Duncan, an 18-unit transitional care facility is planned to support adults recovering from substance use.

That project already received development approval earlier this year and is now working toward building permits.

It's designed to be a supportive environment, especially for Indigenous people and those with disabilities.

Meanwhile, plans are underway in Mill Bay for an affordable seniors rental building, including a mix of subsidized and market rate units.

The Calichan Valley Regional District is providing funding through its housing service, established in 2018 to address housing needs throughout the region.
