Milcom

"Concerning the Ammonites.

Thus says the Lord, 'Has Israel no sons? Has he no heir? Why then has Milcom dispossessed Gad, and his people settled in its cities? Therefore, behold, the days are coming,' says the Lord, 'when I will cause the battle cry to be heard against Rabbah of the Ammonites.

It shall become a desolate mound, and its villages shall be burned with fire.

Then Israel shall dispossess those who dispossessed him,' says the Lord.

Wail, O Heshbon, for Ai is laid waste.

Cry, O daughters of Rabbah, clothe yourselves with sackcloth, lament and run to and fro among the hedges.

For Milcom shall go into exile with his priests and his princes.

Why do you boast of your valleys, O faithless daughter, who trusted in her treasures, saying, "Who will come against me?" Behold, I will bring terror upon you,' says the Lord God of hosts, 'from all who are round about you, and you shall be driven out every man straight before him with none to gather the fugitives.

But he shall have one tribe for the sake of my servant David, and for the sake of Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel.

Because they have forsaken me and worshipped Ashtoreth, the goddess of the Sidonians, Chemosh, the god of the Moabites, and Milcom, the god of the people of Ammon, and have not walked in my ways to do what is right in my eyes, and keep my statutes and my judgments, as did his father David.

However, I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand, because I have made him ruler all the days of his life for the sake of my servant David, whom I chose because he kept my commandments and my statutes.

But I will take the kingdom out of his son's hand, and give it to you, ten tribes.

Let's go back to what verse were we at? came to pass as Solomon was old, and his wife turned away his heart after other gods, and his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God, as was the heart of David his father.

For Solomon went after Ashtoreth, the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom, the abomination of the Amorites.

Look at, can you see the category that he went to? And Solomon did evil in the sight of the Lord and went not fully after the Lord as did his father.

Scripture keeps saying us because his father was already a template.

And in my book, The Dragons of Eden, which I've co-written with biblical scholar Mauro Bellino, I show that in fact, the writers of the Bible, both the Hebrew scribes who produced the Hebrew scriptures as we know them, and the Greek scribes or Greek speaking scribes who produced the Septuagint, the Greek translation of the Old Testament, the Hebrew scriptures, They worked hard to airbrush over the stories of multiple beings, to turn the stories of the multiple Elohim into the story of a single God, to turn stories of paleocontact into a neat and tidy story of Yahwist monotheism, the Bible itself records the process by which the Hebrew scribes began obscuring the cultural memory of the many Elohim.

Elohim like Dagon, Chemosh, Milcom, Asherah, Baal Hadad, Baal Zebul, Yahweh, Achech, and all the others.

Before these changes that were brought in by kings Hezekiah and Josiah, the high priest Hilkiah, the royal scribe Shaphan, the senior priest Ezra, all those stories are told in the Bible.

Look at 1 and 2 Kings, 1 and 2 Chronicles, look at the book of Jeremiah, look at the book of Ezekiel, and you will find the process by which Jewish ritual was reformed to become monotheistic, and scriptures were produced to tell a monotheistic story.

And for Solomon went after Ashtoreth, the goddess of the Sidonians, and after Milcom, the abomination of the Ammonites.

So he literally started worshipping other gods.

So Solomon did what was evil in the sight of the Lord and did not wholly follow the Lord.
