When you made that transition, was there anything you realized in the numbers that had been missing moving from CFO to CEO and having a fresh perspective?

Yeah, it's a great question because a lot of people that are new to the industry right now are just reaching out and trying to understand how to bring the next generation in and what training they should get.

And what I see a lot of people do is they start off in acquisitions and development.

That sounds fun, exciting, but I think that's probably not the best place to start.

I think it's important to start as an operator.

Because you need to understand the business, how it makes money, the challenges, the challenges that your associate face, what your guests demand before you can decide what to buy or build.

And so that's when I started as CFO.
