From what we could gather, it seems like the limiting factor for the average person, the average untrained person, is probably going to be stomach capacity, how much one's stomach can stretch out and accommodate hot dogs.

But if you take, I'll say, an athlete like Joey Chestnut or Miki Sudo, some of the top competitive eaters out there, it's unclear if it's stomach capacity or by that point it might be chewing capacity or maybe swallowing capacity because maybe they've stretched out their stomach so much that they could fit in more dogs.

They just can't eat them and swallow them quickly enough.
