I think Tuton's the only play in this.

I mean, you have to be very, very desperate to go with Rodriguez, but last week I was talking about potentially a Ryan Matthews, Mike Tolbert type charters split in the backfield.

Now I think it's very much Tuton is looking like the ver- the prime guy.

Yeah.

And the backup, they ran a bootleg, and I can't remember who the backup was, but he threw a decent throw to Mike Tolbert, hit off his hands, pick six.

No way.

I think two weeks ago, there was a college quarterback who had to come out for a play.

Okay.

So I'm not completely off base, but I, the one, it kind of crystallized for me as I was writing yesterday of, it reminds me a lot of Ryan Matthews and Mike Tolbert.

where

everybody wanted to get in on Ryan Matthews, the young back, and this guy, this dude is going to be the guy.

And then Mike Tolbert would just have his 580 yards and nine touchdowns, and it would just drive you crazy.

You can't play him in fantasy unless he's getting the touchdown, but he gets the touchdown every other week, it seems like.

So

I do feel like that kind of hit me yesterday as I was going through that parallel.

Chris Rodriguez split pretty close on overall snaps with Bashal Tootin, but touches went hard one direction.

Chris Rodriguez this morning reminds me of Mike Tolbert, where Mike Tolbert was playing with Ryan Matthews and everybody's really excited about Ryan Matthews, but then Tolbert would still roll in and get eight touchdowns and kind of limit the overall upside.

That feels like Rodriguez's role.

And I think that you see very, very scheme specific usage out of the backs here.

And it's like, why do you think they're not doing that?

Everyone yearns for Mike Tolbert, okay? And we'll never have him again.

He's gone.

Mike Tolbert is gone.

And we all have to live with that fact.

It's a post-Mike Tolbert world, and we're all living in it.
