We have a little bit of a luxury in Wyoming in that we are the least populous state in the union.

Um, you know, as I believe it was former Governor Mike Sullivan coined the now famous phrase, "Wyoming is really just one big small town with really long streets."

[laughs]

You know, this is a community where someone running for statewide office, governor, senator, secretary of state, what have you, there is still an expectation that as a voter, you're gonna get a chance to shake that person's hand and look them in the eye maybe a couple of times before election day.

Now, I'm pretty sure that I voted for Democrats for governor.

I think that Mike Sullivan was one of the best governors we've ever had.

But he's a Wyoming politician.

He's a Wyoming moderate.

Anybody who's been here for a long period of time remembers when everybody was more just people rather than objects.

I remember here at the center, there was a wonderful evening with Al Simpson and Mike Sullivan, and they were both longtime political career and they had an incredible discussion on stage and it was obvious that they had different points of view but they agreed to disagree and we totally respected each other as a person

They eventually found an elderly man who had dropped it, and he rewarded her with $20.

On the same day President Trump endorsed Chuck Gray for US House, describing him as, quote, "An American first patriot and a true friend of MAGA," unquote, former Governor Mike Sullivan endorsed Democrat Lisa Kinney for US House on Tuesday saying, quote, "It's important Wyoming have somebody dedicated to public service who works well with people and has proven their leadership like Lisa has and Chuck hasn't," unquote.

Political reporter Clair McFarland explains the significance of each.

The president on Tuesday morning was calling Secretary Gray a patriot and said that he would fight to grow the economy, cut taxes, regulations, support farmers, ranchers, promote things made in the USA, and energy dominance, and defending the Second Amendment.

Gray's opponents were quick to point out that Trump has a complicated relationship himself with some of those ideals, such as he is routinely in dire straits with ranchers over his beef policies, with farmers over skyrocketing diesel prices, and so on.

Meanwhile, on the same day, Mike Sullivan, former Wyoming governor, a Democrat who served late '80s, early '90s, announced his endorsement of Lisa Kinney, and he said that her resume is impressive and that she can work well with people.

The general election is on Tuesday, November 3rd.
