Could the Patriots consider a run at a former first round draft pick defender? And this, of course, sparks a lot of comments, lots of questions, and I figured we'd kind of break it down here on our show.

Now, this did come from ESPN's Mike Reiss on this, but let's start here with Danny Gelent of Patriots Wire, who says this.

"The New England Patriots have been looking for reinforcements defensively, particularly across the defensive front and at linebacker.

And that's pretty darn important.

How about this stat, courtesy of Mike Reiss at ESPN, with, uh, all week one games completed.

Teams that won the turnover differential, what was their record this week? Any guesses? 13 and 0.

Wow.

Uh, and of course when the opportunity presented itself to get A.J. Brown, for them it was something they had to do, and, and now you have the surplus of receivers.

And I even said to Mike Reiss, I texted Mike before I heard Mike Vrabel say this, I think it's potentially a problem if...

And you can't assume injury, you can't assume full health, but if let's say, you know, they're in a situation where, you know, they've got to make receivers inactive on game day, well, the guys who are more prone to being inactive are those that don't play on special teams.

And so now you're gonna have, if you had seven receivers, and you had four of them who didn't play on special teams, uh, and then you have Dobbs and Brown who've gotta be active, and those are the guys you've committed to, uh, and, and those are the guys that I think Booty, uh, mostly aligns with in terms of the offense, then there's a good chance he's gonna be inactive and, and potentially that's a problem for a guy that wants to be, you know, signed to a new contract, uh, and have a good year in his final year under his current contract.

He's not, it's not a long-term injury.

I, I'm honestly surprised he's not playing, 'cause, like, a week ago Mike Reiss was like, "Yeah, he's walking through the, the locker room, no limp, he's fine." And [chuckles] a week later it's like, "Eh, just not quite ready yet." I'm like, "All right, well, he'll have a long layoff here.

He'll be back for the Steelers game." I guess that question will be answered next week.

The point that I wanted to make, Rhamondre's a good player, man.
