Mike Ploog

The, uh, 1972 is really the start of this, and Werewolf by Night is the premier a- uh, uh, [clears throat] kind of the premier example, and so I've got some pages to show you.

Uh, Mike Ploog was the artist, and, uh, uh, Mike Ploog, to me, uh, has a ton of Barry, uh, I'm sorry, Bernie Wrightson-esque elements in his work.

But look at the lighting, the framing, the cropping, the gesture.

Uh, Mike Ploog and Gerry Conway launched, uh, Werewolf by Night, and these are some of the earlier Ploog, the, the best epi- the best issues of Werewolf by Night are the ones that are illustrated by Mike Ploog, P-L-O-O-G.

Just a fantastic artist.

[clears throat] But, uh, he rampaged, again, through his own series and caught the attention of the masses at the time with his trademark green pants and then his distinct Wolf Man werewolf, um, depiction.

Now, obviously, Disney did a TV special of this.

Um, but Werewolf by Night was, um, a book that I was unable to obtain early on.
