And you're probably thinking to yourself, what is this background music I can hear? That background music is Move Your Body by Graeme Park and Mike Pickering from the Hacienda classical album.

a must-have album and i need and i need to get a follow-up what's going on anyway so this is a episode gets a little bit serious at times penny is a little bit emotional and maybe a little over served we've got to say but there you go penny was back on We had a great roundtable.

you should say some more personal drama there is laughs to be had here so what happened was um we mentioned in a previous episode lemmy had an ex who was involved in a very serious drink driving accident and he's in the hospital and what he did was basically deny deny deny everything that was said about him by lemmy despite the fact that lemmy gets her information directly from his parents and his doctor so basically the guy's in the hospital claiming that nothing is wrong and that everyone's lying around him he's just an arsehole there's nothing that can be done to help him that's just that But we're also talking about Las Vegas drama, we're talking about Las Potential, we're talking about Lemmy's beefs with Carl from WATP slash a public agreement with... adam bush former star of buffy all this great type of stuff but it is very uh it's very dramatic and i like to think of it as a fun episode despite all that that music you hear in the background is pacific state pacific yeah i said it right pacific state by graham park and mike pickering and this is from their album hassan the classical legendary nightclub which for some reason I don't have you know they never did another album of that they never toured it very strange but it's a busy it's a dance music album played live with an orchestra I love that shit and so should you if you have a brain to see tonight's episode go to Hughes Entertainment on YouTube I'm at the Hughesy on Twitter and Instagram and and yeah you don't have to donate and all that stuff but it does help us if you hit the like button because it's it's free but it also it's good for the algorithm just interact and it all pays off for us in the end somehow some way somehow summertime yes i like a simple mind So what we're going to do is go into the paid sponsors and when we come back we're going to say, I have no idea how many times I've gone to do this exact intro and botched it every time.
H

And then I talk about how I've botched the intro and still nothing is learned from it.
H

I'm leaving it in.

And so what happened was that Broken Glass gave the venue a credibility with the Black street audience, if you see what I mean.

I think once those seeds were planted, later down the line when Mike Pickering, he did the Friday, which was the night I was doing, and nude night, and this became the famous night eventually with Graeme Park.
G

So what would happen there was that a lot of the Black dancers would come into The Hacienda because there was a load of dancing space.
G
40:31Greg WilsonGUEST
It was a huge dance floor-

And they were the kids that would go in, into The Hacienda in the early days and taking the house music into The Hacienda.
G

And so, like these kids were going into The Hacienda and on a Friday when Mike Pickering was playing, this is about a year after I was there, and this was their stage.

But once ecstasy arrived in '88, and once- The club was invaded by the hordes who were now like, you know, had the little pill and they're into the four on the floor and the kind of house stuff.

I said, why do you think we're going there? and said no no this is this new night on and so we went over i think it was a i think it might have been a friday night actually um and it was mike pickering's uh nude night and uh it was just you know all the way up the street it was queues But as soon as you got in there and just went through the plastic sheets, it was just, wow, it was just mobbed in.
D

I mean, it was like a tsunami of people, just all going with smiley T-shirts on.
