Mike Patton

I know they put out a record a few years ago, and they were in Toronto maybe four or five years ago, and I was curious to go see it.

I just, I just think Mike Patton is one of the most interesting humans and, and interesting singers out there.

Like, he, he's got this, like, weird, um, show tunesy kinda thing, and he just turns into this wild, I don't know, like Tasmanian devil style vocals, and it's just so expressive and, and just, like, unhinged, and I just think it was so ahead of its time.

And I look at it, and I, I...

Kinda swing back to Firebird, so I was, I was listening to this song.

Man, I can't help but hear the big time Mike Patton vibes on that song-

Oh, really?

if I'm wrong if you do not hear Mike Patton." He's like, "Holy shit, man." He's like, "When you t- when you talk to these guys, you gotta bring that up and ask them about that."

But, you know, it started with like, hey, you know, I know this guy and what about so-and-so? And, you know, and we tried to go out to different people.

Like we reached out to Mike Patton from Faith No More And he didn't want to do it because he's all kind of doing his own thing.

And we reached out to like Miles Kennedy.

We asked early on and or like Shooter Jennings.

Yeah, and, you know, I was still getting tho- those Deftones and Coheed kind of vibes, but my pick on this also threw in almost a, a bit of a Mr. Bungle kind of vibe into it.

And I could see a lot of similarities in Mike Patton's vocals with Mr. Bungle and Jason Butler's vocals on this album.

For my short list, I went with Punk's Not Dead, Jesus Is and Incest Is a Legacy, but I, I think the one song that nailed all the changes and nailed it, you know, front to back was Beauty Queen Breaststroke.
