Mike O'Callaghan

And I've always kind of thought that way.

Uh, I think one of the greatest governors we ever had was Mike O'Callaghan.

You know, he was a Democrat.

I worked against him in 1970, and he hired me to run his campaign in 1974, interestingly.

[laughs] And, uh, he was a, a reasonable bipartisan governor who looked at issues on what made m- the most sense for the state, not what made the most sense for the Democrat Party or the Republican Party.

You know? So that's the difference.

Okay, so here's my thought about Mike O'Callaghan, who sadly I never got to meet.

I came to Nevada too late, um, for his time.
