It's just a piece of paper, ultimately.
16:14
But it's its own legal entity.
16:16
And that's important.
16:17
Like a business is a legal entity, a trust is a legal entity.
16:20
It's its own legal entity.
16:21
So when I pass through my structure, my will structure, my will ultimately directs my assets to my trust that are written within my will.
16:31
And the reason I'm doing that is because I want to make sure that when I pass, I'm not passing my wealth onto anyone specific.

6 MINS LATER

22:50
It is.
7:24
What else do we need to be thinking about to make life easier for our loved ones should we pass away?
7:29
Well, again, they need to be thinking about really having a, a folder in place where they've got their will, they've got their life insurance policies, their pension documents, you know, bank statements, birth certificates.
7:39
All, all that kind of info or admin needs to be kept somewhere safe where it's easily accessible because the idea of when you ultimately pass away is that you don't want your family to be searching around trying to find documentation and find out whether you had a bank account with this bank.
7:54
You want it all to be laid out, and the only way really to do that is to make sure that everything's within a nice folder, as it were, so it's all there ready for somebody to view.
8:02
But the other thing to think about as well is, is digital assets.
8:04
You know, we live in a world these days where everything's on people's phones.
8:08
So it's making sure that you've also got the passwords and bits and pieces written down for your Instagram and such likes again 'cause that's a, a really, really important part of it as well.
12:22
What situations would that be really important and where that would really come into its own?
