Alan Eagleson was the executive director at that time, and each team had to have a player rep, and nobody really wanted to do it back then.

So, you know, they go around the room, who's going to be our player rep this year? And everybody's kind of looking, everybody's got their head down, and nobody wants to have eye contact with anybody.

And I just put my hand up and said, I guess I'll do it.

And so it was through the eighties that I was a player rep.

And then obviously we had, uh, we had the change over from Alan Eagleson and all the troubles that happened there, uh, to Bob now coming in and, and Bob, um, Bob ran our union like a union, and he wanted to really help the players in our challenges that we had with our structure and the structure that we had with the owners at that time.
