Today's guest is Dr. Mike Brasher from Ducks Unlimited.

He is the senior waterfowl scientist and he's here to talk about everything that we're trying to do to preserve and conserve the heritage of hunting their tradition of being outside he spent his career studying waterfowl across north america he's also a hunter

right that's right

not going to be the case for your your daughter your son your granddaughter or grandson so there is a lot of data to show that it is the length of the season that has a more profound effect on the harvest rate or total ducks that are that are harvested so that's one of the things that that kind of factors into those different regulatory packages as they're as they're called

I am here today with Dr. Mike Brasher, Dr. Heath Hagey, and Dr. Lisa Webb, and the reason we're doing a collaboration on this is we are gonna be talking about the Verheijen studies.

I've had Dr. Brasher on my po- my podcast over on the North American Waterfowl, and we decided this would be great to bring me in as kind of the host in helping these guys flow through the content of these studies.

right now have you read anything on the on that topic have you read anything that they that the wild ducks are like keying in on some of the behavior of the farm raised ducks in the sense of like okay maybe a maybe a wild one migrates to that area and all these ducks are sitting there chilling and it's like hey man like what where are you going you know like why are you leaving i mean i don't really know

everything there is um Dr. Mike Brasher at Ducks Unlimited, Mike Schumer with the Foul Weather Podcast, and Dr. Levretsky.

Those three are, you know, they know a lot about the whole game farm mallard and what it does to the migration.

I hate to even really say, but what I have read is affecting the migration of the wild mallard.
