Tell us a little bit about how it can be that there are so many different types of animals like this that are so small that have managed to thrive in Africa, where it seems like everything is trying to eat you.

Well, and, you know, the-- To put my nerd hat on really well.

So we have reproducers that have longer lifespans, and we have reproducers that have shorter lifespans, right? And so they can, uh, and also age to reproduction and number of young that they can have and this sort of thing.

Um, and those little guys are adapted to reproduce relatively quickly, uh, relative to something that is larger.

Um, obviously, if it's much larger, it takes a long time to get to reproductive age quite often.

But their reproductive output is such that they replace themselves very, very quickly.

We see this in a lot of organisms, not just these little guys.
