Like, if I'm supporting a candidate, I'm doing that because I believe that the candidate is going to support my interests.

The Midwifery people, they supported because I saw that you went to do a lot in the departments.

Yeah.

So they're endorsing you that, okay, when you come into power- When you come, you have to do more of it ... you are still going to maintain that.

antenatally in those situations is so important alongside the practical maternity support that people receive at the hospital because pregnancy after loss isn't just another pregnancy, it's shaped by their previous experience and we can't get away from that.

We should be able to expect that if we're going back to the same place for maternity care, that people know that we've experienced a loss.

And I know midwives see hundreds and hundreds of people, but when we go, we're only interested in ourselves.

We want to be able to feel supported and cared for and not have to retell our story.

I'm Augustine, your host, and, uh, today's subject is a big one.

As you all know, I advocate and talk regularly about defensive charting and the persecution and pressure that midwives are under in the United States in practicing midwifery.

I myself am the most investigated midwife in Oregon state history, and am now retired, so I feel very comfortable saying all that is.

Uh, today's guest is someone who has, what we would call, gone through the wringer, is facing what I think most midwives fear, their greatest fear.

And so without much further ado, Sally, I would love to welcome you and ask you to give us an introduction about who you are, where you are, and your midwifery career.

A health minister has announced plans to create a maternity and neonatal commissioner in England.

It follows a series of maternity care scandals and an investigation that recommended that the post should be created.

Karen Smith said ministers had accepted the proposals and would make changes to the health bill when it was debated in the Lords.

And to deliver on this commitment, I can announce today that we will be bringing forward an amendment to this bill in the other place to establish a statutory maternity and neonatal commissioner.
