Middlesboro

We were like the two tall, lanky guys [laughs] that were on both, not very good at sports, but played.

Um, then didn't talk to him for a while in life, and then he started, like, showing up at shows when we would go to Middlesboro.

Um, and then he started coming a lot to the bar.

He be- he had, he took cancer treatment at UK, and he's been going through that for years.

Just a coincidence.

Wow.

Um, and so my prayers are to his sisters, um, and to all of his friends, everybody I went to school with in Middlesboro.

Uh, I'm gonna miss you, Lawrence, and, uh, not, not a nicer dude.

So maybe, maybe he was justified.

You see, Nathan Blagg was jailed for seven years and two months and two years on an extended license after stealing a Massey Ferguson and driving it into a house in Middlesboro in May.

Teesside Crown Court heard that the house, which was empty at the time, was linked to his rival, Luke Lancaster.

with whom he was engaged in an ongoing feud.

Hey, I had to call this morning, guys.

I stayed in Middlesboro last night.

Why are you in Middlesboro?

Uh, I was, uh, I went to a show in Knoxville, a concert in Knoxville last night.

He'll grow up tough.

It's like those two guy, brothers in Middlesboro that were named Ig and Ug.

Oh, they're like two of the legends of Middlesboro High School, Ig and Ug Fewson.

You have to be a legend if you're Ig and Ug.

Like, I just couldn't believe a website.

And we didn't get it till late in Middlesboro.

There's still websites you can't believe.

It was 2012-

... before we got it [laughs] in Middlesboro.

No, I mean, it was, it was like '96 when I got on it for the first time, and I was like, "Whoa, this is crazy."

[laughs]

Shirts, skins.

It was a little bit like Middlesboro youth basketball, where they would say, "You're the Bulls." And you'd go, "Well, do we get Bulls jerseys?" "No, wear something red." [laughs]

Yeah.

Corbin has already lost.

Pulaski County beat them a couple weeks ago, so they need to bounce back and try to get this big win against Douglass, who is the best team in the Lexington area once again.

By the way, I didn't know, I didn't realize until yesterday, Middlesboro is number two in the state, Class A.

In my travels, I have met folks in, in Bell County who have seen bears roam into town right next to the Kentucky Fried Chicken.

I guess that smell just got to them, right? But they were right in the Kentucky Fried Chicken parking lot on the edge of town in Middlesboro, Kentucky, as they walk over from the Cumberland Gap National Park.

Now, I love Cumberland Gap National Park, and occasionally, because of my job, I will go down to Middlesboro.

One day, I was in Middlesboro, and somebody said, uh, "Now, you like nature a lot, right? And you like to hike?" And I said, "Yeah." And they said, "Well, uh, my sister works down the street at Kentucky Fried Chicken, and there's a bear in their parking lot right this moment." Pretty cool, right? Here's yet another story, right? I have also talked to a man in McCreary County, um, McCreary County, who went out to the dumpster behind a grocery store in Whitley City, Kentucky, and a black bear was startled and came charging out of the dumpster as the man went to throw the trash in that exact same dumpster.

So he went out the back door, walked across this parking lot, I think he told me about 40, 50 yards, and, uh, opened up the dumpster, and then the, the bear...

Somebody had slid the dumpster lid across, right? It was a side, kinda side door.
