Middle Vaitarna Dam

So how the system works is that, uh, we have seven reservoirs which, uh, the city draws its potable water from.

These are Tansa, Tulsi, Vihar, Middle Vaitarna, Upper Vaitarna, Bhatsa, and Modak Sagar.

Some of these reservoirs, like Tulsi and Vihar, are situated in Mumbai district, but the rest of them are situated approximately hundred to one fifty kilometers away from the city in Thane and Nashik districts.

And together, these seven reservoirs have a total holding capacity of some fourteen point four seven lakh million liters.
