Mid Morning Matters with Alan Partridge

Yeah.

Clifton in Midmorning Matters.

Season two, remind me, yeah, he comes in.

Yes,

Yeah, it's...

Well, there are enough...

There's quite a few clips out there of where he's in the studio for Midmorning Matters, and they're sort of...

The bare bones of the script are there, but he's just...

But I think as a fan, you feel that as well, because you've grown up with him.

And also my job has mirrored his at certain stages I was thinking that when I was sort of boning up for chatting to you, watching Alan in I'm Alan Partridge or Midmorning Matters, I've been in those rooms that he's in, the exact sort of size and shape with the exact same fittings and mic setups.

And doing live radio, it's impossible not to fall into him when you're picking the moment to introduce the news and sport or the song.

And intentionally you try and pick a funny moment or you try and create a weird contrast or almost something inappropriate to go, this is Green Day.

It really brings me on to your first choice of a Partridge moment, a clip.

We don't have to rank them, but what would be one of your top three?

Well, my first would be where that Two Suicides quote comes from, which is the final episode of the first series of Midmorning Matters with Zoe.

I think on iPlayer it's called Milkshake and they splice them, not three-wise, but two-wise on iPlayer.

So we've covered the day-to-day, knowing me, knowing you.

I'm Alan Partridge, Midmorning Matters Alpha Papa.

I, Partridge Nomad, open book scissor dial this time, Alan's live stand-up, including Stratagem, comic relief contributions, and we've also spoken to all manner of fans of Partridge who are well-known and also members of the cast, including Simon Greenall, Michael the Geordie, Tim Key, Psychic Simon, Stephen Mangan, Dan, and Susanna Fielding, a.k.a. Jenny Gresham.

So what are we doing here today? We'll be taking a look at your feedback for all the Alan projects that you've been getting in touch about, and then in a couple of weeks' time, we'll be moving on to From the Oast House Series 4.

You get the benefit of some great visual comedy slash facial acting from Steve that you don't get in the audio formats.

Some quality writing in there at times, and as you've referenced, some fantastic interplay with Lynn and their continued dynamic shifts after all these years.

The writers have wonderfully spanned across APU projects such as This Time and Midmorning Matters.

An absolute highlight for me was the interaction with Psychic Simon early in the series.
