Uh, and back then he reached out to me and, and presented an opportunity to join the Faena Group, which was very exciting.

They were developing, uh, probably the most innovative new district in, in Miami Beach in, uh, in the Mid-Beach area, which back then wasn't really developed.

So they were developing a million square feet, uh, over several buildings.

Um, one of them was a refurbishment of the old Saxony Hotel.

At least Danny's on South Beach, but like [laughs] it's better than Lutz, Florida and Tampa, Florida where we're at, uh, or so.

Mid-beach.

Yeah.

Um, yeah, I, I, I'm interested to see, again, what the approach is.

So looking upon it a little further, Vecinos is an all-day neighborhood bar inside the Trouville Hotel in Miami, which is one of those art deco hotels on Indian Creek Drive.

I guess I'd say it's in this Mid Beach area, they call it.

Vecinos means neighbors in Spanish, and the food is run by the folks behind Caracas Bakery in Miami, and so it leans a little bit Spanish and Portuguese.

It's also one of those counter service restaurants, which makes me wonder if we're gonna keep seeing more of these refined counter service restaurants like Birdie's in Austin or John's Food and Wine here in Chicago, which just got named Food and Wine Magazine's Restaurant of the Year.
