Mid-America Regional Council

If our listeners are not familiar with them, I'd encourage them to go check out their website and learn about the work that they're doing.

I had the opportunity to work with Volcker Alliance on some workforce development things when I worked at Mid-America Regional Council, and they're a great organization.

And ICMA has been a big champion of helping veterans find their way into local government careers.

And I think there were several sessions at the conference this week that kind of championed that.

Um, for example, in the Kansas City area, it's a lot more counties.

It's by state, and it's the Mid-America Regional Council.

Um, there's the Wichita area MPO in Kansas, Topeka MPO, Flint Hills MPO.

There's a bunch of it.

Um, so I think part of that conversation and we, that we have to have is this continued conversation that the market is delivering devices faster than some of them can be regulated, and there is guidance in standard traffic ordinance and state statute that govern many of these about where they're allowed to ride and what condition they can ride under.

And so I think there is some recent policy from recommendations from the Mid-America Regional Council, um, that we're reviewing and having conversations about internally.

Um, there will be continued conversations as part of implementation to explore if there needs to be additional regulation, um, in this space related to mobility devices.
