Microtonality

It assumes the band is wrong, not the brain.

Microtonality proves in real time that what we arrogantly dismiss as a flaw, a mistake, or noise is very often just an encounter with a different, highly complex, deeply structured system that our brains simply haven't adapted to yet.

Because Engine de Poitrine forces that alien tuning into the deeply familiar format of a rock band, the cognitive dissonance is maximized.

So if I'm picturing a piano, microtonality is like finding hidden keys stuffed deep into the cracks between the standard white and black keys

That is a perfect way to visualize it

So then they went from, so Am I in Heaven and Strassen were on like the Samurai and the SG, I think.

And then they went to Microtonal with Open Water, which I had been hoping for and expecting and was awesome.
