Creating Microservices in Nest.

JS This article attempts to demystify microservices by showing devs how to create a set of microservices using one of their favorite frameworks, Nest.

It is a monorepo, by the way.

We are shifting back from this whole mo- microservices and everything.

You can manage your microservices, but imagine a startup actually having a monorepo, which only the big fours were able to do with their own version control system because of the lines of code.

So today, like we were having different-- We have multiple products, right? Like it's a platform, it's-- We are solving for equity, so we are trying to, uh, touch multiple stakeholders.

Now, you have to think in a different way because it's somewhere finance and like all those ICPs are different, so your products are different, but essentially the engines are same.

But then I turned to classical IT.

How boring, right? But speed forward to the, yeah, let's say, 2010s when everything was about cloud and everything was, oh yeah, microservice here, microservice there.

And it was sort of like, I just thought it was boring because, uh, yeah, well in the cloud, I guess you can get any piece of really bad software to run.

You just throw more resources at it.

How many contributors do you have to the project? I

think something around 25 to 30.

To say how many still active ones, I'd probably reduce that to something around five, because At the beginning, a lot of, let's say, IT folks joined in because they also shared the same dream of doing consulting for the industry instead of doing boring cloud microservice stuff to finally start controlling robot arms with lasers attached.

But the thing was, over time, Most people realize that the automation industry just doesn't do business with small consulting companies.
