To me, option three that goes by the riverfront, goes up that greenway, touches, uh, Michigan Central, touches Detroit City FC Stadi- new stadium.

There are so many hotels and things in that way.

Also, that route keeps it off of Michigan Avenue.

We all know the trouble with the bricks and lanes and everything on Michigan.

Yeah, I mean, I've I, you know, kind of classically trained, I suppose, went to school for marketing, advertising, communications.

Went to work in Chicago, worked at an ad agency on Michigan Avenue, 62nd floor, the whole thing.

I think they're going to put a big number on Maryland this week.

I think this is a great bounce-back spot for them against New Mexico.

This week, Michiganders oppose proposed Lannell Data Center at the University of Michigan in Ypsilanti Township.

Last week, residents of Ypsilanti Township expressed their anger over a proposed high-performance computing facility near the Huron River in a partnership between the University of Michigan and Los Alamos National Laboratory, LANL.

Residents are concerned that the proposed project would fuel research into the nuclear arms race.

The proposed plan involves a $1.2 billion computing facility of almost 300,000 square feet for classified federal research and non-classified university research in science and technologies.

The Department of Energy, DOE, and the National Nuclear Security Administration, NNSA, Stockpile Stewardship Program would dedicate most of the space to lateral work that includes nuclear weapons research.

The Stockpile Stewardship Program was developed after the end of the Cold War, has expanded, and the NNSA has taken it over.

Michiganders point out that the proposed research would go beyond maintaining the existing weapons stockpile.

So one, like aviation, like I just feel like there probably weren't many universities back in the late '80s, early '90s that were offering aviation type programs.

I went up to Western Michigan in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

They had one.

Most, uh, colleges back then, if you were interested, they would send you a catalog that had all their majors in it and, and pictures, and then that's how you figured out if that's where you wanted [chuckles] to go, and, and if that's, um, the, uh, major you wanted to try.

I had people kinda mentor me.

Uh, and my senior year in college, I just happened to meet a, uh, a pilot.

Uh, his name's Don Ferland, and he was a pilot at the Battle Creek Air National Guard unit, and he had also gone to Western Michigan University through the aviation program.

And he, uh, told me about it and said, "Hey, you should put in a application." And so I did.

And Cheryl, this doesn't happen a lot.

Oh, really? I don't know how many times we've had somebody from Michigan on our show.

It's not often.

That's a shame.
