New on Daybreak, Indiana has put convicted child killer Jeffrey Wisehite to death.

It happened overnight in Michigan City.

A jury convicted Wisehite in 2013 for the deaths of his girlfriend's two children in 2010.

His death is one of three executions happening in the U.S. today.

Weisheit was joined by a spiritual advisor before his death and the father of his victims had asked the governor to grant clemency because Weisheit had found religion.

But the mother of those children during a clemency hearing tearfully asked the Indiana Parole Board to allow Weisheit to serve his death sentence.
