Talk to us about the kind of overview of the model and then we'll unpack as we go.
6:23
Yeah, sure, sure.
6:24
So the adult chair in a nutshell, it teaches us how to be emotionally healthy adults.
6:30
That's it.
6:31
And what I found, what I had found in my own practice for 20 years is that so many clients would come in and we were growing up, you know, we're growing up and we age physically, but on the inside we are acting like teenagers or adolescents, right? you know, people that would, let's say, react instead of respond, people that couldn't apologize or that blamed or they were stuck in gossiping or they were in their inner critic or whatever it might be.
6:58
So my job always was to help them to find this healthy adult perspective.
7:04
So this whole adult chair model is really based on 20 some years of work that I've done with other clients.

What are some of the other tools that people can use or potentially check in with that could support them?
1:18
Like what got you into it? Oh my
1:20
gosh.
1:21
How much do you all know? Well, this could take hours.
1:24
All right, let me condense.
1:27
Okay, let me condense it way down.
1:31
So the highlights.
1:34
So I own a self-help company now.

38:19
okay so we're on step four
34:20
Yes.
34:20
So for example, when we're in the first chair, which is the child chair, number one, that roadmap is being built.
34:25
We've already talked about that.
34:27
So every experience that you see, witness...
34:31
Not that we're taught.
34:32
Let's face it, if my father ignores me 'cause he's an alcoholic when I'm, when I'm a child, he's not telling me, or let's, let's say it like this.
34:41
If my father is unsafe because he's an alcoholic and he gets really loud and it makes me scared, or he's abusive physically in some way, I'm gonna learn how to be small and quiet, because it's not safe to be fully out loud, right? That's, these are the kinds of things that go on a roadmap.
