And it's just something, you know, like I've seen people, met people, not only in Bor, but around Offaly and around the country that got to know me.
Pio SpillaneGUEST
65:59
And people think, you know... addiction is everywhere at the moment as we all know but it's not just that it's mental health it's just I just try and stick with positive people today that you know that you know mean a lot to me you know somebody met me in the street I'm actually quite a shy person some people would think like Jesus this lad doesn't even talk but I just love I love the community of our I love everything about it.

There's a line in your story, and I have to give full credit to Michael Verney in The Irish Independent because it's a very powerful piece, and you say you weren't going to play senior hurling, but that never mattered to the people of Burr, so what was it about the way they treated you that you felt like you belonged?
Pio SpillaneGUEST
66:45
It's like, I don't know who said it recently, it's like, and they wouldn't realise this at the time, but even if you're not a good person at the sports you're playing, especially in people that are training kids need to realize this, that it's not about how good you are.

But you see,
John MullanePANELIST
27:35
Michael, the problem is there, right? If you bring in a person, right, and you're financing financing for maybe say three or four people right the head coach has to get his time the strength and conditioning has to get his time the video analysis has to get to justify paying out the money that you're paying out for for these guys hence that's going to be very time consuming on the players and you're 100% right like like are we overdoing it look I can understand definitely at inter-county level but look it's probably going a step too far with some of the set-ups within the club scene you know in regards as you just spoke about there you know the element of time that's needed now for some of the club players but that's all off the back of justifying these lads if there's say four lads coming in five lads coming in six lads coming in They have to be seen as right.
John MullanePANELIST
28:34
I have to justify being paid what I'm being paid.
John MullanePANELIST
28:37
And that's going to be very time consuming on the players.

John MullanePANELIST

I think...
John MullanePANELIST
41:02
Bar 1 or 2 I think will be probably will be close I think in regards the starting 15 the one the one standout one for me is Tom Manahan is picked in the forwards and I'm kind of looking at the midfield selection and I'm kind of saying Jesus he might have a better chance of getting in midfield than he would in the forwards so I don't know you're on the selection committee Michael is there an opportunity where Tom Manahan albeit he's selected in the forwards, could you find a place for him in midfield?
Michael VerneyHOST
41:36
Yeah, there
