Michael Schenker coming through.

So Army of Love was a band that you played in.

They were a very big band.

And also Storm and Vindir and the guitar player Per.

He came from Michael Schenker and those kind of music, but he's like a sponge.

He's the youngest one in the band as we are now and he's kind of like a sponge so he kind of likes he listens to new music all the time and kind of like listens to it and it evolves in him and he kind of like makes music which is kind of like his take on his inspirations.

And he also likes carcass and black metal and all kinds of stuff.

Oh, it's over the years, it's kind of like changed a lot in Pardogmata because I joined Pardogmata in 2021, early 21.

And, you know, before I joined, there were kind of like They had this a bit straight metal and a bit trash approach.

You know, a bit Maiden, a bit Michael Schenker, a bit Megadeth, that kind of stuff.

But I'm more like an extreme metal vocalist, so I did Angry Again by Megadeth on my audition actually, and it worked well.

Led Zeppelin was my second band after Kiss, and then once I got into Led Zeppelin, it was Bon Scott, AC/DC, Highway to Hell, all that stuff, and then Van Halen.

And so by the early '80s, I was already, like, a Michael Schenker fan.

Um, we could detour, because I always use that when I talk about musicians.

My favorite musician is Michael Schenker, and-

It's so funny, I was talking to his son the other day.

G'day everyone and thanks for tuning in to today's episode of Music From A Lifetime, the podcast where I offer you new thoughts on old albums and an old person's thoughts on new albums.

On today's episode I'm going to take a look at the album MSG by the Michael Schenker Group, the band's second studio album released in September of 1981.

Michael Schenker's tumultuous career through the late 1970s and into the 1980s decade had been well established by the time we reached the year of 1981.

After he'd left the band UFO mid-tour in the United States following a successful five-album stint, and having briefly flirted once again with his brother Rudolph and his first band, the Scorpions, Michael Schenker had gone on to form his own band called the Michael Schenker Group and released their debut album to some acclaim.

That self-titled album had reached number eight on the UK albums charts and a reasonably respectable number 100 in the US.

The band had gone out to tour to promote the album, but hot on the heels of that, as was the way that bands generally did in the days when selling albums was still a profitable way of making money, Shanker looked to immediately get back into the studio and record their sophomore effort.

That first album had been recorded with session musicians apart from lead vocalist Gary Barden, which had necessitated putting together a more solid touring band.

So, so yeah, the George thing is whenever, which there's a, I have a string of gigs in them in October, a couple here and there at the end of the year after Gene gets back from Canada, a couple of days after Christmas, I'm at the whiskey with George and then there's some other stuff at the beginning of the year.
