Michael Sams

Like I will give you an example.

There was a player who played for the Miami Dolphins named Michael Sams.

And he was one of the first openly same-sex attracted football players in the NFL.

He was one of the first people who was open about it.

There are similarities with the case of Stephanie Slater, who was kidnapped in 1992 and, you'll recall, held captive inside a wooden box for eight days.

Michael Sams was eventually arrested and convicted, but this experience had a devastating long-term effect on Stephanie.

She suffered badly with PTSD and became increasingly isolated, eventually living as something of a recluse before her tragic death from cancer in 2017, aged just 50 years old.

There are obviously significant differences between the two cases, but the thing that strikes me is that sudden loss of freedom.
