A man formerly from Davenport arrested last year for allegedly sexually abusing a child for more than two years has entered into a plea agreement with Scott County prosecutors.

michael patrick acres junior thirty six now of galesburg illinois had been charged in scott county district court with two counts of class b felony a second degree sexual abuse on wednesday during a hearing in district court Akers agreed to plead to one count each of Class C felony, lascivious acts with a child, and Class D felony, lascivious acts with a child solicitation.

Under Iowa law, Class C felonies carry a prison sentence of 10 years, while Class D felonies carry a prison sentence of five years.

District Judge Mark Lawson accepted Aker's plea and scheduled a sentencing hearing for December 16th.

Michael, how are you today?

Eager to hear about the 24-hour rule because in your career, you've talked about it before.

You also can't be so aggressive that you're making decisions without the information that you really need to make that decision because that's irresponsible too.

Were you ever glad that the Dan Lepp who was in the CEO job for two years wasn't making one of the decisions that the Dan Lepp that was in the CEO job for 15 years was required to make?

I don't know that I would put it that way, Michael Patrick.

I think the way that I would explain it is that I grew and I was able to use past experience to make better decisions as I grew in the job.
