Several Mississippi dignitaries are among more than 100 members of Congress asking for an investigation into the activities and funding streams of Planned Parenthood and its affiliates.

Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith, who chairs the Senate Pro-Life Caucus, as well as Congressman Michael Guest and Mike Ezell, have signed a letter to the Inspector General urging a review of federal funding streams received by Planned Parenthood through HHS programs, grants, contracts, and subawards.

This request follows the launch of an SBA administration investigation into whether Planned Parenthood affiliates illegally received $88 million in loans during the COVID pandemic.

The bill also would have prohibited the download or use of TikTok at U.S. military installations, at certain federal agencies, and on federal government devices.

House Bill 6837 No TikTok on Department of Homeland Security Devices Act introduced by Representative Michael Guest and referred to the House Committee on Homeland Security Subcommittee on Oversight Management and Accountability on February 25, 2022.

This bill would have prohibited Department of Homeland Security, DHS, employees and contractors from using TikTok on Department of Homeland Security computers or other information technology equipment.

It also would have required the Department of Homeland Security to remove the application from Department of Homeland Security equipment.
