Jon then offered to help bring Beck down to high camp, but looking at how exhausted Jon was, Beck politely declined, saying he'd wait for Mike.

Refusing help was an incredibly gutsy move for someone in Beck's condition, but it was also the selfless thing to do considering Jon was already struggling to descend without having to assist a visually impaired climber.
