Specifically, I'm thinking of that monumental work by Feelings and the AO Spy North American and International Studies.

I remember when that data was published, it felt like a massive paradigm shift.

It changed everything about how we counsel these patients.

Before that, we relied so heavily on retrospective single surgeon data.

My takeaway from Feelings' work was that surgery wasn't just about stopping the decline anymore.

It was actually about regaining function.
